Souvenir from DC

BookWhile visiting the American History Museum @ Smithsonian, we stumbled upon a Pastry Chef promoting his book and also of course signing it. I wasn’t that interested at first because I’m never a fan of paying full price for stuff. I’ve never paid full price for books. I usually pay at least 10-20% less or more when I can get a great deal!

I collect cook books and I tend to buy every now and then. On sale, of course. Out of curiosity, I decided to check out the book and the chef.We soon found out that Chef Roland Mesneir was the Executive Pastry Chef for the White House and has served over 5 presidents! He’s now retired from the White House but is still in the pastry business.

I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get my first signed book by a famous chef and had to get it! I’m thankful for the generous husband who got me the book. The book cost USD30, but a signed copy (dedicated to me!) and photo opportunity with the renown chef = PRICELESS!!!!

Watch out for the cakes I’ll be churning out! In no time, I’ll be eating cakes like the the many Mr. Presidents, their families and their special guests did! =)
